Norma Alexander was employed by the Fremont-Newark Community College district from September 1975 through June 1992. She was instrumental in developing the mathematics program and the curriculum.
Norma was a strong advocate and supporter of the Ohlone Math Lab, spending many hours helping students in the lab, recruiting student tutors from her classes, and encouraging her students to use the lab services. She was very encouraging to female students to study math and science. She also served as a role model for her daughter who became a successful high school math teacher.
