Harley Radley was hired in March 1981 as a Lead Operator / Operations Supervisor and retired in December 2002, after 21 years of dedicated service. Upon retirement, he was granted Emeritus status.
During his tenure at Ohlone, Harley demonstrated loyalty and commitment to students, faculty, staff, and college programs.
Harley was instrumental in supporting the college in transitioning from one enterprise information management system to another on two separate occasions. While Harley was at Ohlone the technology systems were changing at a rapid rate and he continually updated his knowledge and skills in response. He was an important participant as the college prepared for the Y2K changeovers.
Harley worked with the Payroll Department to make certain faculty and staff paychecks were accurate and printed on time. He worked with the Admissions and Records Department to assure that the telephone registration system was working and available for students. He managed and performed the backup of all student and financial data on a daily basis.
Harley was always available to help with special projects requiring important data, including accreditation studies and college planning efforts.
And whether they won or loss, Harley was always rooting for his beloved Oakland A’s.
