Colleen Carr was hired in September 1974 and retired in January 1994, after nearly 20 years of dedicated service. Upon her retirement, she was granted Emeritus status.
Colleen demonstrated tireless commitment to the Fashion Merchandising program. She was a caring instructor and committed to the success of her students. She worked hard to maintain close ties between the program and the fashion merchandising industry. Her leadership skills led her to become Division Director for several of the occupational programs at the college.
Later in her tenure, Colleen played a significant role in the creation and development of the Newark Ohlone Center at the MacGregor School site. In her these early efforts laid the foundation for future growth at the site.
Excellence was a hallmark of Colleen’s of her distinguished career. She was highly regarded for her dignity and professionalism in her assignments as a professor and an administrator.
