Tony Cardinale was hired in 1980 as Chief of Security and Safety. He retired in 1997, after 17 years of dedicated service. Upon retirement, he was granted Emeritus status.
Tony was a dedicated employee who developed and supported many new policies and procedures to make the college community safe and more secure. He played a vital role in Ohlone’s use of emergency preparedness planning and the development of seeking information for students. He also created and implemented parking procedures for the college.
Tony was known for his hands-on leadership style and his caring attitude. He was instrumental in the improvement of morale to reducing staff turnover in the security department. He was widely respected by faculty, staff and students.
