Jim Reynosa was hired in September 1970 and retired in June 1996, after 26 years of dedicated service. He was a Pioneer Faculty member at the temporary Serra Campus off Washington Boulevard in Fremont and was involved in helping build the physical education and athletics classes and programs. He was also involved in the planning and move to the permanent Fremont Campus on Mission Boulevard in 1974. Upon retirement, Jim was granted Emeritus status.
Jim distinguished himself as a head baseball coach by winning 228 games over 14 seasons, including two conference championships and six second place finishes. Seven of his players signed professional baseball contract. In 1985, Jim assembled and coached a Community College All-Star Team that played in Taiwan against the National Chinese All Stars.
Jim was a versatile instructor and his classes included aquatics, badminton, bowling, golf, are volleyball and weight lifting. He also served as head football coach from 1971 to 1973.
