Carla Soracco was hired in September 1978 and retired in 1994 after 16 years of dedicated service. Upon retirement, she was granted Emeritus status.
Carla was a versatile instructor and taught a variety of activity classes including Aerobics, Weight Training, Volleyball, Tennis, Striding and Fitness for Life.
Carla was the coach for Women’s Tennis for 14 years. She also coached Field Hockey for four years, winning the state championship in one of those years.
Carla was active as a faculty leader outside her department. She served as Faculty Senate President for four years. She also participated on several college-wide committees including the All College Council, Matriculation Committee, and the Accreditation Committee. Carla also served as a Coast Conference Representative for Ohlone and participated in the California Community College Academic Senate.
