Walter Aylward served on the Ohlone Board of Trustees from 1973 to 1980. He was a member of many organizations, including the State Bar of California, St. Joseph’s Men’s Club, the Washington Township Men’s Club, S.I.R.S., the Marine Corps Tankers Association, and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, where he was an usher.
Walter was born and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts and graduated from Tufts University in the Boston area. He served in the Marine Corps from 1954 to 1956 and was a retired major in the Marine Corps Reserve. He received his law degree from Boston College Law School in 1959 and was an attorney for 36 years, spending the first 12 years in general practice in Fremont and then specializing in workers’ compensation in San Jose.
